Technical Precision Plastics, Inc. is proud to announce that it will be partnering with 6 other local companies, Alamance-Burlington School System,  Alamance Community College and the Alamance County Chamber of Commerce to establish a four-year apprenticeship program.  This program called Career Accelerator Program, or CAP, is designed to create a pipeline of qualified manufacturing workers.  It will be the first program of its kind in the county providing high school juniors and/or seniors with on-the-job training and classroom education.

Any student that meets the requirements for admission into the apprenticeship program, will receive hands-on training provided by one of the partnering companies along with supporting college classes offered at Alamance Community College (ACC).  CAP will provide over 8,000 hours of combined on-the-job training and college education.  All participating students will be paid for time working at the company, but also for the time they attend classes at Alamance Community College. The company will also pay the student’s tuition at ACC.  At the end of their four years, the student will have an AAS degree in Mechatronics from ACC, a Journeyman certificate from the North Carolina Department of Commerce, and a guaranteed job upon graduation. Mechatronics is an emerging field blending principles of electrical, mechanical, computer and industrial engineering.
